BOM Karting Returns from Bursa with Two Podium Finishes

Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport (BOM) Karting Team secured two podium finishes at the third round of the Motul Turkish Karting Championship, held in Bursa on June 27–28. Yiğit Nedim Çelik claimed third place in the Micro category, while Süleyman Cem Karakömür finished second in the Junior category, delivering strong results for the team.

The third round of the Motul Turkish Karting Championship brought intense competition to Bursa across all categories. Competing in multiple classes, the Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport (BOM) Karting Team concluded the weekend with two podium finishes and several competitive performances, providing valuable momentum for the remainder of the season.

In the Micro category, Yiğit Nedim Çelik crowned a consistent weekend with a third-place finish. In the Junior category, Süleyman Cem Karakömür fought for the lead until the final lap of the final race. After losing a position on the last lap, he crossed the finish line in second place.

Competing in the Mini category, Asil Yusuf Özbahadır was in contention for victory throughout the race. While taking the lead, he ran off the track after hitting a patch of dust on the circuit, losing his advantage and ultimately finishing 12th. In the same category, Ercüment Ali Karacan recorded one of the fastest laps of the weekend and finished seventh, while Can Kalkan impressed with his pace and continued development, securing sixth place.

In the Junior category, Efe Ayhan showed strong determination throughout the weekend but was unable to achieve his target result after encountering a technical issue in the final race, finishing 16th.

In the Senior category, Demir Sağım demonstrated strong pace and remained competitive throughout the weekend but narrowly missed out on the desired result, finishing fifth. Kaan Ballık, who was battling for a podium position in the final race, retired after contact with a rival. Oğuz Marangoz completed the event in 11th place.

Throughout the weekend, BOM Karting displayed strong race pace and gathered valuable data alongside its two podium finishes. The team will continue focusing on driver development while aiming to further strengthen its competitiveness in the remaining rounds of the championship.

BOM Karting will return to action at the fourth round of the Motul Turkish Karting Championship, taking place at Kapadokya Circuit on August 8–9.
