BOM Karting Completed the Second Round of the Turkish Karting Championship
In the second-round races of the Motul 2024 Turkish Karting Championship, BOM Karting Team competed with four athletes across three different categories, with Zayn Sofuoğlu once again securing a spot on the podium.
Continuing their preparations throughout the week at the Tuzla Karting Park Track, where the races took place, BOM Karting Team saw Zayn Sofuoğlu, Turkey's youngest karting athlete, achieve a podium finish. Motivated even further after an unfortunate accident during the practice sessions, Zayn managed to close the weekend with a 3rd place finish in the TOSFED Micro Support Cup.
At Tuzla Karting Park, a narrow track with no escape zones that resulted in more contact than usual, BOM Karting athletes in the Mini Category, Efe Ayhan and Rüzgar Evci, couldn’t achieve the desired positions on either day. Despite occasional setbacks due to contact with rivals on the track, Efe Ayhan finished the weekend in 10th place, while Rüzgar Evci, forced to retire in the last race due to a dislodged fuel hose, still managed to conclude the second round in 12th place.
In the Senior Category, Sarp Arhan Or, despite being unable to finish one race due to contact, completed the weekend in 13th place.
The third-round races of the Motul Turkish Karting Championship will be held on June 22-23 at the Izmit Körfez Track.
The sponsors of the BOM Karting Team are Borusan Otomotiv, Shell, Borusan Lojistik, Borçelik, Gedik Piliç, Borusan Oto, and Supsan.
