Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport Completes the Opening Rounds of the GT4 European Series

News - 09 April 2024

Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport (BOM) has successfully completed the first rounds of the GT4 European Series, which they have been competing in for seven consecutive seasons. BOM's rookie driver Pedro Ebrahim claimed victory in the Rookie Cup in both races of the weekend, while the team secured 6th place in the team standings and 7th in the drivers' standings at the Paul Ricard Circuit.

In the first race held on Saturday, April 6, the duo of Berkay Besler and Gabriele Piana, driving the #12 BMW M4 GT4, finished 6th in the Silver category. Meanwhile, the #11 car pairing of Yağız Gedik and Pedro Ebrahim ended the day in 10th place.

The second day of the opening rounds, on April 7, brought dramatic moments for the BOM drivers. In the #12 car, Berkay Besler and Gabriele Piana spun to the back of the grid after contact from another competitor at the start of the race. However, they delivered an incredible performance, making 41 overtakes to finish in 6th place—a testament to their determination and skill.

The #11 car duo of Yağız Gedik and Pedro Ebrahim also put on a strong display, moving up from 30th to finish 10th. Unfortunately, a 10-second penalty pushed them down to 13th place in the final standings.

The second round of the GT4 European Series will take place at the Misano Circuit in Italy from May 17-19.
