Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport Ready for the 2024 GT4 European Series with a Strong Lineup
Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport (BOM), the first and only Turkish team representing our country in the prestigious GT4 European Series, introduced its 2024 season drivers during pre-season testing at Istanbul Park Circuit. Preparing for its 16th season with BMW race cars, BOM will compete in Europe with its iconic turquoise BMW M4 GT4 race car.
Expressing his pride in six uninterrupted seasons of successfully representing Turkey in the GT4 European Series, Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport Team Director Ahmet Köseleci congratulated his team for overcoming numerous challenges, unforgettable moments, and achieving European third place in the 2023 season. He emphasized that the team aims to achieve even better results in the 2024 season with growth, consistency, and passion.
Highlighting that each of the drivers for the new season has achieved significant successes in their careers, Köseleci said:
"In car number 12, Berkay Besler, who will compete for his 14th championship this season, will be joined by Gabriele Piana, the 2023 GT4 European Series champion with numerous achievements in motorsport."
Köseleci also added that in BOM’s car number 11, the experienced driver and 2020 GT4 European runner-up Yağız Gedik will team up with rising star Pedro Ebrahim to strive for crossing the finish line first. He stated:
"With our strong driver lineup, we aim to make an impact in the new season and proudly wave our flag."
Contributions from BMW Factory Driver Augusto Farfus
BMW Motorsport factory driver Augusto Farfus, who has been closely collaborating with BOM since the 2023 season, also shared his thoughts on the new season:
"As a long-time BMW driver, I have always admired teams using BMW cars. BOM is a team I have followed for a long time and found very successful in the GT4 challenge. I have always closely monitored the GT4 European Series, but this season, I will follow it even more closely thanks to BOM’s decision to trust my recommendation to give Pedro a chance. Pedro is a young and fast driver who will compete for BMW. I am confident that a very successful season awaits us. BOM is a determined GT4 team aiming for the top with its investments.
In addition to Borusan Otomotiv as the title sponsor, BOM is supported by Shell, Borusan Lojistik, Borçelik, Gedik Piliç, Borusan Oto, Supsan, and Glasurit.
